I welcome the opening of a new Village Hall in Burton Green, a facility I know will be well used by the village and which offers high-quality accommodation for a variety of activities. I thank and congratulate all those who have worked to deliver it. The new building is needed of course, because HS2 has required the demolition of the existing Village Hall, so the provision of a replacement is what we should expect of HS2 Ltd, but it is pleasing to see the long-suffering residents of Burton Green get at least some benefit from a project which has affected their village perhaps more than any other location along the line so far.
