Small Business Saturday

It has been over 200 years since the first record of the French aphorism that the English are “a nation of shopkeepers”. What was meant as an insult, we have turned into a compliment, adopting the moniker as testament to our entrepreneurial spirit and our sense of community.

I was delighted to see that the Fosse Way, which runs through my constituency, has secured a place in Historic England’s list – Irreplaceable: A History of England in 100 Places.

Visit to Myton Hospice

I recently visited Myton Hospice in Warwick. There are Myton hospices in Coventry, Rugby and Warwick, together with nursing teams that care for people in their own homes.

Visit to Thwaites Dumpers

I visited to Thwaites Dumpers last week as part of their 80 years of manufacturing celebration. It’s great to see high quality manufacturing thriving in this constituency.

Fireworks at Kenilworth Castle

Congratulations to Kenilworth Round Table for putting on another fantastic display at Kenilworth Castle this year and raising over £40,000 for local charities and good causes.

It was an honour to take part in the annual Remembrance Day parade in Kenilworth on Sunday. Thanks must go to the local Royal British Legion branch, together with the team of volunteers who gave up many hours to prepare, organise and collect for the beneficiaries.
