Support for High Streets

You will, hopefully, have heard of my “Buy a Gift in Kenilworth” campaign around Christmas, but our High Streets are for every day of the year, and especially this most recent Saturday (16 March), which was High Street Saturday.

World Down Syndrome Day

I’m supporting World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD), a global awareness day which has been officially observed by the UN since 2012.  

The date for WDSD is the 21st day of the 3rd month – selected to signify the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome.

Brexit Update March 2019

Throughout the complex and lengthy Parliamentary processes over Brexit, it has remained true that there are effectively only 3 options: leave with a deal, leave without a deal, or do not leave at all.

International Women's Day

Everyone should have the chance to do what they do best, which can only benefit us as a society. There are still too many barriers put in the way of half of the global population for no good reason. Let us all commit on this International Women’s Day to keep working to bring those barriers down.

CW10

Last week I met with members of CW10 at the British Motor Museum in Gaydon. CW10 is an informal network of senior representatives of leading heritage, museum, performance and arts organisations in the Coventry and Warwickshire area.

Kenilworth School Visit and Plans

I recently visited Kenilworth School to meet with the Headteacher, staff and pupils and hear about ideas and plans for the new school and sixth form facilities.

As part of a varied high street, charity shops mean those clothes and items that no longer bring us joy have the chance to bring joy to others, whilst also supporting some important causes.
