I recently visited Shield Manufacturing Technologies Ltd,(SMT), at Clearwater Business Park near Southam. Shield is one of the largest engineering groups in the UK, specialising in machined parts, aluminium castings and complex assemblies into multiple industry sectors and I saw the latest addition to their site, a 1400 square metre building dedicated to the manufacture of up to 40,000 high-performance electric motors.
SMT, which was established 7 years ago to support Green-Tech businesses transition into their manufacturing phase is a credit to British innovation and an important part of the advanced engineering and manufacturing sector in our area.
