Challenging the Government on the Chagos Islands

The Government argues that urgent action is needed because of legal jeopardy— Ministers have said they are worried about a binding legal ruling against the UK which would force our hand - but I have yet to hear a clear answer on what that jeopardy actually is. The International Court of Justice cannot make a binding ruling against the UK in this case, so the Government need to tell us what is actually driving them to make what looks like a bad deal.
