The Riders Branch of the Royal British Legion (RBLR) celebrated its 10th anniversary this year and to recognise this significant event set themselves the Ten Year Million challenge. They did not quite meet their target but raised a very impressive total of just over £832,550.

Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day this year was a particularly special year for remembering, since it was 100 years since the beginning of the First World War – a war that cost millions of lives, including some 888, 246 British or colonnial soldiers.  Defeating the largest and best equipped army in Europe was always going to mean a terrible human price and as we mark the anniversary of the WW1 Armistice it is time to focus on the courage and sacrifice of our forbears.  

British Heart Foundation's 'Nation of Lifesavers'

Last week in Parliament I pledged my support for the British Heart Foundation’s ‘Nation of Lifesavers’ campaign, to increase the number of people trained in life-saving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and help create a Nation of Lifesavers.  

Kenilworth Train Station

Earlier this month I was invited to join Cllr Peter Butlin, representatives from London Midland and the campaign group ‘A Station for Kenilworth’ and hop aboard the test train to make the journey between Leamington and Coventry. 

MP Sees a Royal View from Kenilworth Castle

Kenilworth MP, Jeremy Wright, saw a “view fit for a Queen” when he was invited to tour the newly installed viewing platform at Kenilworth Castle.
