I am not aware of any plans from the Government to amend their Representation of the People Bill to establish a National Commission on Electoral Reform, nor to provide for the replacement of first-past-the-post. I support First Past the Post, as it is a tried-and-tested system that ensures stability and clear governance and for the most part, produces governments with working majorities in Parliament. This leads to efficient and effective decision-making.
